In this course, instructor Steve Thomas provides an introduction to the 2018 International Building Code. Course is applicable to designers, contractors, framers, and building inspectors.

Course Objectives
The presentation explores the major provisions of the International Building Code and how to navigate the different provisions. Steve will include discussions of the provisions addressing the following issues:
- occupancy classification
- types of construction
- means of egress
- fire sprinklers
- fire-resistive rated construction
- administrative provisions
- accessibility
How the Registration Process Works
STEP 1
Complete the registration form below to register and pay for this online course through BPI/BOAT via Paypal (or credit card).
STEP 2
Once BPI/BOAT confirms payment, a link will be emailed to continue the course registration through Utah State University. This registration will give you access to their CANVAS online learning platform. Please make sure your email system does not block this or put it in the junk/spam folder. Registration Steps 1 and 2 must be completed to access this course!
STEP 3
Once you have access to CANVAS and the course video, you can start your training. This online course is broken up into multiple video segments. You can start/stop each video as often as needed. At the end of each video segment, you will be prompted to take a quiz. To continue to the next segment and/or pass the course, you must score an 80. You are allowed 3 attempts to pass each video segment.
STEP 4
Once you’ve completed the course and passed the quiz, Utah State University will verify the 6 contact hours (.6 ICC CEUs) and BPI will send you a certificate of completion.
